Jointing and Terminating

If you have suffered damage to a cable network or require modifications to a private or consumer network, DO NOT WORRY, WE CAN HELP YOU.

One FREE call to us on 0800 3 118 588, and your system can be up and running a lot more rapidly than you may think. We can usually get your site RE-ENERGISED on our FIRST SITE VISIT even if its only a temporary solution where necessary, with a view to a full repair, when CONVENIENT FOR YOU. Our fault locating equipment is truly priceless as it saves us a lot of time in finding out what the problems with your cable network are.

Specialist Electric Ltd have jointing teams ready and waiting to go for contracts nationwide. All are approved contractors and substation engineers. We are also currently gearing up for Lloyds registration for NERS, which will allow us to work on the live equipment in the highways and operate as an electrical utility provider.

We can work on any cable size and type, multicore or singlecore, including but not limited to:

  • SWA/XLPE
  • Waveform
  • PILC
  • Earth
  • High Voltage upto 11kV

In addition to the cable types we can handle, there are also a number of different joints we can perform such as STRAIGHT, BREACH/BRANCH, and STOP-END/ POT-END. These can be resin poured, heatshrink and now coldshrink, which is a brilliant piece of kit for areas where hot works and blow torches cannot be used, or are not permitted such as combustable environments.

Another neat piece of equipment we can supply is a monitoring system. This system constantly looks at your cables and allows a more proactive approach to network maintenance than simply waiting for faults to happen, which usually cost a lot more time and money than the actual job of repairing the problem.

The photographs down the right show a glanded 185mm 4 core cable at the top ready to be cut and crimped for termination into a large isolator. The ones below show us dealing with a number of 35mm 4 core connections after re-routing the feeds to various buildings to a substation. These are vertically positioned joints and are as shown, heatshrink variants.
